A Hauppauge info tech company owner is one of this year’s honorees for an Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Rao Anumolo, chief executive of ASR International Corp., was one of several dozen this year to get the medal.

It is awarded each year to Americans from a variety of ethnic and national backgrounds, as a means of celebrating the country’s diversity.

This year’s list also includes the former Mets player Mike Piazza and actress Jane Seymour.

Anumolu’s company website lists mostly government info tech clients including the Long Island Rail Road, the MTA, the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Records show he is politically active, donating about $36,000 to Congressional Democrats in the past 10 years.

The award is sponsored by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, which says medalists “are remarkable Americans who exemplify outstanding qualities in both their personal and professional lives, while continuing to preserve the richness of their particular heritage.”
