(AP) — Mobile phone equipment supplier InterDigital Inc. said Tuesday that it has promoted Naresh Soni to chief technology officer.

Soni has been vice president of strategic engineering since joining InterDigital in June.

Before that, Soni had run his own company and held various research and engineering jobs at IBM Corp., AT&T and Nokia Corp.

InterDigital, based in King of Prussia, Pa., develops circuitry and software use in wireless phones and other mobile devices. Its shares dipped 2 cents to $25.15 in Tuesday's afternoon trading.
