The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of Local 40 and 361 of the ironworkers union will begin taking applications Thursday for 100 outside ironworker apprenticeships, officials said.

Applications can be obtained at the union office, 35-23 36th St. in Astoria, Queens, from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, excluding legal holidays.

Applicants should bring proof of a high school diploma or its equivalent. They also must pay a $25 testing fee via money order made out to the union.

The recruitment period ends May 24.

Applicants should be 18 or older, be physically able to do the work, pass a written aptitude exam and drug test, and be able to follow written directions.
