Job fair for veterans Thursday in Farmingdale

A job fair for veterans featuring 75 employers offering more than 350 jobs will take place in Farmingdale Thursday, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s office announced Tuesday.

The New York National Guard will host the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair for veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserve and military spouses.

The fair will take place at the Farmingdale Armed Forces Reserve Center at 25 Baiting Place Rd. from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Employers that have agreed to participate include Delta Air Lines, GE Aviation, Geico, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Home Depot and Northwestern Mutual.

A workshop offering job search skills such as resume writing and interviewing will be offered at 8:30 a.m.
