Jobs web site aims at youth
The New York State Department of Labor has launched a website aimed at helping the state’s youngest workers to get ready for the world of work.
The site “serves as a single point of contact to connect youth with the tools and resources they need to build a resume, budget for self-sufficiency or find their first job,” the department says.
The service targets teens and young adults ages 14-17 and 18-24. That's a portion of the opening screen, above.
The young job seekers will learn the nuts and bolts of how to get working papers, prepare for job interviews and obey labor laws. They will also learn how to safeguard digital identity and maintain their health and wellness for life and career success, the department says.
