Lake Success company named a best place to work in state

It takes more than a “Take Your Pet to Work Day” to be named the best company to work for in New York State.

That’s according to Maryjo Charbonnier, chief human resource officer for Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc, in Lake Success, just so named by the New York State Society for Human Resource Management, as well designated a great place to work in the Gallup Great Workplace Award program.

At the root, says Charbonnier: “We keep our associates front and center with what we do, and they help keep our clients front and center to what they do.” Among the company’s initiatives:

--Medical centers staffed with doctors and nurses at major work sites in New York. Charbonnier says employees come up to her in the halls to express their appreciation.
--Value on diversity, with the annual Cultural Week at the company’s Edgewood facility, when employees from various backgrounds can educate one another on culture, heritage and foods.
--Pay tied to performance, with a special emphasis on client satisfaction.

Two questions remain:
How about pets? Are they invited to offices? That would be a thumbs down, says Charbonnier.
