Layoffs in ProHealth closing
ProHealth plans to close its North Massapequa location and lay off 24 employees by August, according to a regulatory filing. But some or all of the employees could be hired by the doctor who was part of the ProHealth partnership at that location, said attorney Benjamin Malerba, who represents ProHealth and is a partner at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale.
The state filing, dated May 31, came after a "mutual separation between ProHealth and the senior physician at that office," Malerba said.
The employees affected include 17 nonlicensed professionals who work for ProHealth Corp. and seven licensed professionals who work for ProHealth Care Associates. The layoffs are slated to take place by Aug. 31.
