LI home-nursing group called 'best'

The Garden City-based Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island has been named to the 2010 HomeCare Elite, a national list of highly-regarded health agencies.

The list is compiled by OCS Home Care, an industry consultant and analysis company.

OCS says its list of home care elite companies is a "compilation of the most successful home care providers in the United States." The list includes the top 25 percent of agencies in the U.S., "whose performance measures in quality, improvement and financial performance are the best."

Winners are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in patient outcomes, improvement and financial performance, OCS says.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Long Island was founded in 1912.
