Digital Ethos, a Hauppauge-based nonprofit focused on digital communications, will host a  daylong social media seminar in Manhattan Tuesday.

The event, called Social Media Action Camp, will feature workshops and speakers to teach attendees about how to effectively use social media as part of  marketing campaigns. The sessions are part of the international Social Media Week program, which encourages events centered around the impact of social media from this week.

About 130 people are expected to attend the Action Camp, which will take place at Steelcase Showrooms in Columbus Circle. Although the physical event is sold out, those interested in listening to the panels can watch a free live-stream of the workshops and speeches, which will be accessible through the Digital Ethos website at digitalethos.org Tuesday morning.

Several Long Island-based marketing professionals will also be speaking and moderating events through the day at the Action Camp. The event is expected to run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
