Staff members at the Melville office of EGC Group participate in CreateAthon in 2012, donating their skills to create ad campaigns for three local nonprofits -- all in a 24-hour period.

A Long Island based marketing and digital agency is encouraging local nonprofit organizations to apply by next week for an opportunity to receive free marketing services.

Melville-based EGC Group is hosting on Oct. 16 and 17 its seventh CreateAthon event, a 24-hour marathon that provides pro-bono creative and marketing services to select nonprofit organizations. CreateAthon was founded by South Carolina agency Riggs Partners.

EGC, a participating CreateAthon agency in the New York area, has produced advertising campaigns, social media strategies, marketing plans and digital communications for area nonprofits -- valued at more than $2 million as part of the campaign, agency representatives said.

Previous recipients include Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, Junior League of Long Island and the Volunteer Center of Long Island.

Applications are due by Tuesday, Sept. 30. For more information, visit www.egcgroup.com.
