Robert C. Suarez has joined the board of directors at the Early Years Institute, a Plainview nonprofit organization that promotes increased investment in young children. The Freeport resident is assistant vice president of community development at Bethpage Federal Credit Union.

Rishi Shah of Manhasset has been named a member of the Multicultural Motion Picture Association's executive directors. He founded S3 Media in Plandome.

Ted Richman has been elected chairman of the board of directors at the Barry and Florence Friedberg Jewish Community Center in Oceanside. The Merrick resident is the managing partner at the Lake Success law firm of Solomon Richman.

HEALTH CARE
Carmel T. Culver has joined Dominican Sisters Family Health Services in Hampton Bays as Suffolk administrator. Most recently, she was program director for the Manhattan Visiting Nurse Service CHOICE Program. Culver is a Southampton resident. 

LAW
Barry Cohen has been named partner-in-charge of the environmental law practice group at Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman in East Meadow. The Setauket resident was co-chair of the group.

John V. Terrana has been appointed co-chair of the Suffolk County Bar Association's condemnation and tax certiorari committee. The Huntington resident is a partner at Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn and Terrana in Uniondale.

Tara E. Daub has been promoted to counsel at Nixon Peabody in Jericho. The Sea Cliff resident was an associate at the firm before her promotion. 

LIBRARIES
Long Beach resident Mindy Ferrentino Wolfle has joined the Elmont Memorial Library as marketing and public relations specialist. Ferrentino Wolfle is also president of Neptune Marketing in Long Beach

MANUFACTURING
Anthony Beneventin has joined EcoPath, a sustainable entryway mat manufacturer in Georgia, as New York regional sales manager. The Lake Ronkonkoma resident held a similar position at Mats Inc., based in Stoughton, Mass. 

NONPROFITS
Ted Scherff has been named director of the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center in Oyster Bay. Scherff was park manager in the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation at Winchester Lake State Park before relocating to Oyster Bay

TECHNOLOGY
James Blackley has been promoted to executive vice president for corporate engineering and technology at Bethpage-based Cablevision Systems Corp., Newsday's parent company. The Oceanside resident was senior vice president of corporate engineering and technology. 

TELEVISION
James Anderson has joined California-based Open 4 Business Productions as a permanent background actor on USA Network's "Royal Pains" television show. The Port Jefferson Station resident is a retired teacher and portrays a doctor at the fictitious Hamptons Heritage Hospital at several Long Island locations.
