Martin Leventhal has been elected president of Harbor Child Care, a not-for-profit child care organization headquartered in New Hyde Park. Leventhal is co-chairman of the business investigative and insolvency group at the Manhattan accounting firm of Rosen Seymour Shapss Martin & Co. and lives in Glen Cove. This is his second term as president.

MANUFACTURING
Jonathan P. Newton has been named vice president of finance and controller at Vasomedical, a manufacturer and distributor of devices for noninvasive treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases in Westbury. He previously served as chief financial officer at the Westbury medical devices firm and lives in Amityville.

HEALTH CARE
Dr. Harold Brem has been named chief of the division of wound healing and regenerative medicine at Winthrop-University Hospital. He joins the Mineola facility from New York University Langone Medical Center in Manhattan, where he served as program director of the wound health center. He lives in the Bronx.

REAL ESTATE
Fern Altman has joined Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes in Woodbury as a sales agent. The Plainview resident was previously affiliated with Coldwell Banker in Syosset.
