The roofers' union will begin accepting applications on July 30 for a minimum of five apprentices.

Applications can be obtained at the offices of Local 154 of the United Union of Roofers, Waterpoofers and Allied Workers, 370 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy., Suite 1 rear, in Hauppauge, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 29, 2014.

Applicants must be 18 or older, live within the union local’s jurisdiction which includes Long Island, provide proof of finishing high school or GED courses and be physically able to do roofing work.

The New York Labor Department oversees apprenticeship programs. For more information, contact the union at 631-435-0655.
