Several pubs and restaurants on Long Island have teamed up with a Floral Park-based not-for-profit, Let’s Rock and Roll for a Cure, to host concerts benefiting cancer research and wellness programs for women undergoing cancer treatment.
Two businesses hosting upcoming concerts are Surf's Out in Kismet on Fire Island, on July 17, and Whoville Bar and Grill in Bethpage, on Oct. 9.
Social Sports Lounge & Kitchen in Uniondale and Mulcahy's in Wantagh, have previously hosted concerts.
Let's Rock and Roll For a Cure uses proceeds to directly benefit women undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Funded services include yoga classes, home repair, baby-sitting, hairstyling and beauty care.
The concerts include live music, raffles and special giveaways. The not-for-profit also raises money by selling clothing and jewelry on its website letsrockandroll.net. The site sells T-shirts, sweatshirts, bracelets, anklets, necklaces and earrings.
