Local radio stations reported sold
Two FM stations on eastern Long Island have been sold to New York-based JVC Media, several online radio industry websites report.
No price was disclosed for the sales by a Massachusetts company, Barnstable Group.
The stations are “‘Long Island’s only classic rock’ WRCN, Riverhead (103.9) and AC WKJI, Center Moriches (96.1),” radio-info.com reports.
The new owner already has “Spanish tropical WBON, Westhampton (98.5) and rhythmic “Party 105.3” WPTY, Calverton-Roanoke,” the radio-info website reports.
Rbr.com, the Radio Business Report website, says, “Terms of the deal were not announced, but contracts have been signed and paperwork is heading for the FCC.”
