Locally, inflation is down
Inflation in the greater New York area ticked down 0.1 percent in June compared to May, mostly driven by a drop in energy costs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The index for energy fell 1.7 percent. The Consumer Price Index rose 1.5 percent compared to a year ago. Here's the story on the national statistics.
