The Long Island Association has added six members to its board of directors, including three from companies that weren’t previously represented on the business group’s board.

Richard Humann, president and chief executive of H2M architects + engineers; Michael Lessing, chief operating officer of Lessing’s Inc.; and Sonya Soutus, chief public affairs and communications officer at The Nature’s Bounty Co., were all approved to join the board at the LIA’s annual meeting last week in Melville.

TD Bank, Astoria Financial, and Bethpage Federal Credit Union replaced their representatives on the LIA board.

Edward Blaskey, regional president at TD Bank; Brian Edwards, executive vice president and managing director for the retail banking group at Astoria Bank, and Wayne Grossé, president and chief executive officer at Bethpage Federal Credit Union, were added to the board last week.

Lawrence Waldman, the managing director of First Long Island Investors, was re-elected to a third term as the chairman of the LIA’s 68-member board.

The Long Island Association is the region’s largest business group. The 90-year-old nonprofit organization lobbies locally and nationally on behalf of its members.

The group is holding its spring luncheon on Friday at Crest Hollow Country Club. Football stars Eli and Peyton Manning will be the featured speakers at the event.
