Long Island hires and promotions: Amber Kuchler, Farmingdale State College

INSURANCE

Cook Maran and Associates, an insurance broker and consulting firm in East Hampton, Southampton and Melville, has announced five promotions.

Gary Lavery of East Quogue was promoted to vice president. He was an account executive in Southampton.

John Morreale of Lake Grove was promoted to vice president. He was a senior account executive in Melville.

Alison Schmidt of Southampton was promoted to vice president. She was a private client insurance adviser in Southampton.

Christine Schrader of Coram was promoted to vice president. She was a personal insurance adviser in Melville.

Carrie O'Brien of Hampton Bays was promoted to assistant vice president. She was in the commercial insurance marketing department in Southampton.

EDUCATION

Amber Kuchler of West Islip has been named academic counselor at Farmingdale State College. She was a senior academic adviser at Briarcliffe College in Bethpage.

Susan Maddi of Plainview has been hired as manager of administrative services at Eastern Suffolk BOCES in Patchogue. She was former assistant superintendent for business in Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District.
