Avison Young, a commercial real estate firm in Melville, has two new hires.

Joseph Lagano of Massapequa has been hired as senior director. He was an associate vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle in Melville.

Reid Berch of East Norwich has been hired as a principal. He was an executive vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle in Melville.

Laffey Fine Homes has hired three licensed sales agents.

Margie Burkett of Syosset was hired in Greenvale and held a similar position at Shawn Elliot there.

Linda Carey of Cold Spring Harbor was hired in Greenvale and held a similar position at Shawn Elliot there.

Christopher Papantoniou of Oyster Bay was hired in Brookville and was a construction worker at GTS Construction in Hicksville.

Realty Connect USA in Woodbury has hired two licensed sales agents.

Radha Tharoor of Port Washington held a similar position at Homes for Life Inc. in Hicksville.

Rishi Seth of Levittown held a similar position at Douglas Elliman of Plainview.

Frank L. Buquicchio of Islip Terrace, a partner at Russo Law Group in Garden City, has been selected to join the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys’ Council of Advanced Practitioners.

Gregory Garrett of Mattituck, executive vice president/administrator of health services at Peconic Landing in Greenport, has been appointed to the board of directors for LeadingAge New York, formerly the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging.

Arthur S. Laitman of Roslyn, a partner with the law firm Rosenberg, Fortuna & Laitman in Garden City, has been appointed associate board member of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in Manhattan.

Robert O’Brien of Mount Sinai, president of Technical Heating in Mount Sinai, has been named treasurer of the National Association of Oil and Energy Service Professionals.

Marc Palker of Glen Oaks, certified management accountant and principal of MPP Associates Inc. in South Huntington, has been elected chair of the Institute of Management Accountants global board of directors.
