Long Island hires and promotions: Cynthia M. Fitzgerald, Nassau BOCES

Cynthia M. Fitzgerald of Nesconset has been hired as executive director of human resources for Nassau BOCES in Garden City. She directed student support services for the Northport-East Northport School District.

Dianne Scalza of West Islip, an associate broker at Exit Realty Achieve in Smithown, has been appointed president of the Long Island Board of Realtors Inc. in West Babylon.

Dr. Latha Chandran of Smithtown, vice dean of academic/faculty affairs and founding director of the scholars program at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, has been elected president of the Academic Pediatric Association in McLean, Virginia.

Mary Macaluso of Bethpage, an associate broker at Realty Connect USA in Bethpage, has been appointed president of the board of trustees of Bethpage Public Library.

Deidre Helberg of Freeport, president and CEO of Helberg Electrical Supply in Freeport, has been appointed president of the New York metro area unit of the National Association of Black Women in Construction, based in Florida.
