Long Island hires and promotions: John J. Desmond, First National Bank of LI

BOARDS

John J. Desmond of Bay Shore, retired partner-in-charge at the Grant Thornton accounting firm in Melville, has been elected to the board of directors of The First National Bank of Long Island and its parent company, The First of Long Island Corp. in Glen Head.

HIA-LI in Hauppauge has appointed two members to its board of directors.

James Coughlan of Setauket is co-founder of Tritec Real Estate Co. Inc. in East Setauket.

David Manning of Islip is director of the stakeholder and community relations office at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton.

ARCHITECTURE

H2M architects + engineers in Melville has five new hires.

Alex Velez of Babylon has been hired as a staff engineer. He was a project management intern at United Illuminating Co. in New Haven, Connecticut.

Jessica Deutschmeister of Oceanside has been hired as staff engineer. She was an energy and sustainability intern at the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation in Manhattan.

Justin Tomkins of Dix Hills has been hired as a staff engineer. He was a project engineer at Mohawk Northeast in Plantsville, Connecticut.

Khalid Hachil of Brentwood has been hired as a staff engineer. He was a design engineer intern at Data Device Corp. in Bohemia.

Adriana Concepcion of Port Jefferson has been hired as a staff architect. She was a project manager for Austin Patterson Disston Architects in Quogue.

RETAIL

Tim Catalano of Melville has been appointed divisional vice president and general manager of Lord & Taylor in Garden City. He was general manager of Kohl’s in Brooklyn.

EDUCATION

Reanna Fulton of Setauket has been hired as assistant principal of Beach Street Middle School in West Islip. She was the committee on special education administrator for grades 6-12 in the Rocky Point school district.

INSURANCE

Stefanie Tartaro of Lake Ronkonkoma, retention specialist at Clarion Associates Inc. in Hauppauge, a musical instrument insurance company, has been promoted to the new position of social media and mascot specialist.

REAL ESTATE

Douglas Elliman Real Estate in Smithtown has hired two licensed sales agents.

Timothy Horch of Moriches held a similar position at Westhampton Beach Real Estate.

Stephen Perrillo of Ronkonkoma held a similar position at Zere Associates in Ronkonkoma.
