Melissa Hershfield of Somers has been named assistant vice president for regulatory affairs, performance improvement and management at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. She is also director-at-large of the state chapter of the National Association for Healthcare Quality in Commack and was the nursing and quality management executive at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
