Literacy Suffolk Inc. in Bellport has elected two board officers and two new board members.

Robert Margolin of Setauket, president, is a retired attorney.

Steve Moll of St. James, treasurer, is president of Island Public Affairs in Kings Park.

Loretta Piscatella of Oakdale, a new member, is a retired librarian of Middle Country Public Library in Selden.

Madelyn Meltzer of East Setauket, a new member, is a self-employed occupational therapist.

EDUCATION

Mark Navins of Coram has been hired as a teacher integration specialist in the Eastern Suffolk BOCES Library System in Bellport. He was special projects librarian at the Long Island Library Resources Council in Bellport.

Krystina White of Bay Shore, fifth-grade summer transition program facilitator at Longwood Middle School and learning specialist at Ridge Elementary School, has been appointed assistant principal of Ridge Elementary.

SUNY Old Westbury has made three new leadership appointments.

Wayne Edwards of Manhattan, vice president for student affairs and chief diversity officer, has been appointed VP for institutional advancement and executive director of the Old Westbury College Foundation Inc.

Michael Kinane of Smithtown, assistant to the president for advancement, has been appointed vice president for communications and chief communications officer.

Usama Shaikh of Kew Gardens, Queens, assistant vice president for student affairs, has been appointed VP for student affairs and chief diversity officer.

Deer Park School District has made two new appointments.

Christine Gill of Massapequa, hired as curriculum associate for mathematics and business, was a high school math teacher and curriculum liaison in Southampton School District.

Alison Branca of Smithtown, named science and technology curriculum associate, taught several science classes at Deer Park High School.

James McCabe of West Islip has been hired as science coordinator for Islip School District. He directed middle-school life and elementary science in East Williston School District.
