Long Island hires and promotions: Tom Azzara, Farmingdale State

Tom Azzara of Oakdale, associate director of athletics at Farmingdale State College, has been promoted to director of athletics for compliance and operations.

Leslie Boritz of Lake Grove, assistant principal of Commack High School, has been appointed principal, effective July 1.

East Rockaway School District has appointed two administrators.

Sherry Ma of Plainview has been named principal of Centre Avenue Elementary School. She was assistant principal of the Birch School in Merrick.

T.J. DiPietro of Lindenhurst has been appointed assistant principal of East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School. She chaired the English-social studies department there.

Timothy Russo of Massapequa, assistant principal at Harborfields High School in Greenlawn, has been appointed principal, effective Aug. 1.
