Long Island looks relatively good in state jobs-market map
The sluggish Long Island job market is barely growing. It had 500 more private-sector jobs in May, compared with the year before. While that statistic isn’t anything to crow about, it looks pretty good compared with other areas around the state. The Hudson Valley region, for example, had 14,900 fewer jobs in the same period.
And that region is just one of many around that state that continue to lose jobs. The state has put together a map highlighting the expanding and the contracting job markets around the state.
