Shares received a boost after the manufacturer and servicer of MRI scanners swung to a quarterly profit compared to a net loss in the same three-month period a year ago.
Standard Microsystems
(SMSC)
Hauppauge
$25.90 (week's change: +8.2%)
52-week return: +32.7%
The chip maker will not raise its bid to buy Conexant. SMSC gets a $7.7 million termination fee from Conexant because the rival chip maker accepted a buyout offer from a private-equity firm.
