Long Island’s unemployment rate was 4.7 percent in March 2015, down 0.9 percentage points from a year ago.

Nassau County’s rate decreased by 0.9 percentage points to 4.3 percent while Suffolk County’s rate decreased by 0.8 percentage points to 5.1 percent.

By comparison, New York State’s rate was 5.8 percent and the National rate was 5.6 percent.

Here is a look at where the unemployment rate is highest on Long Island. The Long Island figures are not seasonally adjusted and are based on figures from a year ago.
