An outpost of the Russian oil company OAO Lukoil will vacate its East Meadow offices in favor of a sublet on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, a published report says.

"Lukoil North America is moving its headquarters, with roughly 50 staffers, from Long Island to a tony spot on Fifth Avenue, in the heart of midtown," the Crain's New York Business report says.

"The Russian oil concern has signed a 10-year sublease for 10,400 square feet in the CIT Building, at 505 Fifth Ave., from sublessor CIT Group Inc."

Lukoil subsidiary Getty Petroleum Marketing bought the building at 1500 Hempstead Tpke.  in 2001 from Cohen Optical and Sterling Vision; the location had previously been the Snapple beverage company headquarters.
