Madison Square Garden exec joins Hain board

The Melville-based natural-foods maker Hain Celestial Group Inc. has appointed a new member to its board, effective immediately.
The new director, Scott O’Neil, is president of Madison Square Garden Sports, where he oversees the business operations of the Knicks and Liberty basketball teams, and the Rangers hockey team.
“We look forward to Scott's contributions in furthering our commitment to natural and organic brands as part of a healthy lifestyle,” Hain chief executive Irwin D. Simon said.
Before joining MSG, O'Neil was a senior vice president for marketing and business operations at the National Basketball Association.
The appointment brings the number of directors on Hain Celestial's board to 11.
