Malverne computer repair company has mail-in service

A Malverne computer repair company this week began offering a new service providing free laptop repair evaluations -- and free return shipping -- to Long Island residents.
The company, Long Island Computer Repairs, of 341 Hempstead Ave., Malverne, has long offered dropoff evaluation service at its storefront, manager Rick Milne said Tuesday.
But, he said, the company decided to send out a news release this week announcing the new service because “we have so many customers who live so far away. If you live in Riverhead you don’t want to drive an hour each way to have someone look at your broken laptop.”
Within a day of receiving a laptop the company will call with a diagnosis and price, Milne said.
