Maragos event to help firms get government contract work

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos will hold a free business roundtable for minority, women and veteran business owners on Tuesday.
The roundtable will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Ave. in Mineola. The event will discuss opportunities for small business owners to get involved in government contracting in Nassau County and other municipalities.
The roundtable will also discuss subcontracting opportunities associated with larger projects, including the $900 million Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant Hurricane Sandy Recovery Program and the $4 billion LaGuardia Airport Central Terminal B redevelopment.
