Marcum adds West Coast unit to stable

The accounting firm Marcum Llp, with an office in Melville, has bought another accounting company with offices in California, Hong Kong and Grand Cayman.

Marcum did not say how much it is paying for Stonefield Josephson Inc., which will become a wholly-owned division, MarcumStonefield.

"It's a powerful combination offering enhanced resources, an expanded range of business solutions and a team nearly 1,100 strong, working in 21 offices," Marcum said in a news release.

"This will be Marcum's fifth strategic merger in the past 29 months and the company's first presence on the West Coast," the news release said.
