Melville eyewear company Marchon makes a 3-D deal

Melville-based Marchon Eyewear has signed a global deal with RealD Inc. to provide 3-D technology for cinema, consumer electronics and professional applications.
Marchon3D will distribute its RealD-compatible 3-D glasses in cinemas, retail stores, e-commerce sites and through electronic equipment manufacturers worldwide, the company said.
With the agreement, Marchon has a worldwide license to use the RealD brand for sales of Marchon3D eyewear, the company said in a Tuesday news release.
Marchon will also market designer 3-D eyewear and a prescription 3-D lens directly to eye care professionals.
The company currently distributes its products in over 100 countries, with regional headquarters in New York, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Marchon’s other eyewear brands include Calvin Klein, Coach, Diane von Furstenberg, Fendi, Sean John, Power Rangers and X-Games.
