The Melville Marriott this week unveiled the completion of a years-long, $12 million renovation.
The hotel completed a "modern" upgrade of all of its 371 guest rooms, as well as updates to its conference rooms and ballroom event space. The recent renovations, completed this summer, were part of a two-phase process.
In 2015 the full-service hotel, at 1350 Walt Whitman Rd., completed the first phase of renovations, which included upgrades to the lobby, bar and restaurant areas.
The new rooms feature 49-inch flat screen televisions, new window treatments, and redone bathrooms with walk-in showers.
"It looks very slick," said Trish Maulo, regional director of sales and marketing for the hotelier.
As part of the changes, rooms and event spaces have been equipped with extra outlets and USB ports for guests.
"As a full-service Marriott, we target the newer generations, the X and Y," said Walid Awad, general manager of the hotel. "They use their phone, their iPod, their computer...they work and play at the same time."

The changes were unveiled at a celebratory event Thursday evening.
