New York Guard and Reserve members and their families have until January 17 to nominate supportive employers for the 2011 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.
New York State, with 145 nominations so far, is one of the 10 states to receive the greatest number of Freedom Award nominations to date, a clear indication of strong support by the state’s employers, according to the military.
By visiting the web site www.FreedomAward.mil, Guard and Reserve members and their families can nominate employers that have provided exceptional support beyond the federal law requirements. The 15 winners will be announced in early summer.
For more information, visit that web site or contact Maj. Melissa Phillips at 703-696-1171, ext. 519 or by e-mail at ESGR-PA@osd.mil.
