(AP) — MoneyGram International said Thursday it has reduced fees for money transfers sent to Haiti following a catastrophic earthquake.

Through Jan. 24, MoneyGram is offering a special pricing of $1 and similar pricing in foreign currencies for money transfers to Haiti from any of MoneyGram's 186,000 locations throughout the world.

The company also said its relief efforts include a $10,000 grant to Pan American Development Foundation and free transactions to the American Red Cross.

MoneyGram has nearly 130 agent locations in Haiti.

Separately, pharmacy operator Duane Reade said it signed a deal with MoneyGram that will allow Duane Reade customers to wire funds to Haiti free of charge. That program runs through Jan. 24. Duane Reade currently offers MoneyGram services at about 180 of its locations in the metropolitan New York region.

MoneyGram shares rose 8 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $3.25 in afternoon trading.
