Motorcycle show rolls into Javits

It’s off season for riding motorcycles but, for fans, it’s never off season for looking at them and there are hundreds of Harleys, Hondas and others on display this weekend at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show. It's at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. It opened Friday and runs through Sunday.

Organizers say the show typically attracts 65,000 to 70,000 visitors.

New machines include three from Triumph, the Tiger 800 and 800XC adventure bikes and a 1700cc Thunderbird Storm cruiser; BMW’s six-cylinder K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL and Concept C (commuter); the Honda RS750 Scrambler and RS750 Tracker; and the 2012 Ducati Monster 1100 EVO. Also scheduled are a “Team No Limit Stunt Show” — Friday, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. and Sunday, at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.  The New York event is part of a 12-city tour by the show.
