Moving up in health care careers

David Hambel, left, has been promoted to director of respiratory care at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. The East Patchogue resident was promoted from assistant director.

Dr. Mark Borek has joined the division of cardiovascular diseases as an assistant professor of clinical medicine in the School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. The Stony Brook resident will treat patients at Stony Brook University Medical Center and see patients at two outpatient office locations.
