NAFTA comments sought from employers, workers by June 12

Long Island employers and employees have until June 12 to offer the Trump administration suggestions for changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, among the United States, Canada and Mexico, ahead of planned negotiations.
The trade deal is more than 20 years old and has been heavily criticized by President Donald Trump for causing the loss of U.S. jobs. Last month, he notified Congress of his intention to renegotiate NAFTA.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer is seeking comment from employers and employees. Comments should be submitted at http://bit.ly/2syVlI3 by June 12.
A public hearing in Washington is scheduled for June 27.
