Amityville-based Napco Security Technologies Inc. says it has received Underwriters Laboratories approval for a new line of electronic security systems.

The approval was required before Napco could start selling the system.

The UL approval was for Napco’s Gemini GEM-C Series Systems, which it says are “engineered to be the most feature-rich, scalable security systems on the market today.”

The commercial grade 24-volt platform includes modular systems and components that can provide up to 255 wired or wireless security points for fire or intruder alerts.

It also allows for combination panels to unify monitoring of alerts for intrusion, access and fire.

“Now that UL approvals have been granted for the new GEM-C System, marketing is commencing without delay,” the company said in a news release.
