Net income: Loss of $912,000, compared with profit of $332,000 in the same period last year

Net sales: $16.6 million compared with $19.1 million in the year-ago quarter

Outlook: "We are cautiously optimistic that sales and profitability will begin to improve during the remainder of this fiscal year," chairman and president Richard Soloway said in a news release.

Company statement: "The second quarter of fiscal 2010 was the first complete quarter with [our] Napco and Marks USA operations under one roof. We also saw that at the sales levels, which had shown some improvement at the end of last quarter, did not regress in the current quarter," Soloway said.
