Nassau has NY's 2nd-lowest jobless rate
How did Nassau and Suffolk counties’ February unemployment rates fare, compared with the rest of the state?
Nassau’s 5.8 percent was the second lowest. The lowest was 4.9 percent in Tompkins County, home of Cornell University.
Suffolk came in eighth with 6.6 percent. Long Island’s overall unemployment rate fell to 6.2 percent in February, from 7.3 percent the year before, the State Labor Department said Wednesday.
