Nassau Executive Edward Mangano on Friday said he will sponsor a “Welcome Back Warriors” job fair for current or former military personnel. Career counseling will also be offered.

The event is planned for Oct. 4 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Bethpage at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center.

It is co-sponsored by U.S. Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington).

Mangano invited businesses to register for the fair and recruit local veterans.

“Help us help those who defended our freedom by calling today to participate. Be that business that helps a local veteran land that first job when they return home,” Mangano said in a news release.

Some of the participating employers include Astoria Federal Savings, National Grid, New York Life, North Shore-LIJ and the New York State Department of Labor.

Advisors will also be on hand for career counseling, interview skills improvement, resume writing, and to answer questions related to the G.I. Bill.

Participating employers may be entitled to thousands of dollars in federal tax credits.
