NEFCU has opened its 11th branch, and first location in Suffolk.

The Westbury-based credit union opened the doors to its newest location in the Commack Corners Shopping Center at 6500 Jericho Tpke. this past week.

As part of the opening of the Commack branch, NEFCU also hired nine new employees, said Valerie Garguilo, NEFCU's vice president for marketing and community relations.

The Commack location is already in business, but NEFCU will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 21 and a celebration that includes food and family activities Sept. 22.

The lease on the new branch was arranged by Garden City-based Sabre Realty Group; the space is about 4,860 square feet.
