Andrea Tsoukalas, left, was promoted to partner at Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana in Uniondale. The New Hyde Park resident had been an associate at the firm since 2005.

Nicole Norris Poole, center, has joined Lewis Johs Avallone & Aviles in Melville as senior counsel. She was a senior associate at Brody O'Connor & O'Connor in Northport and lives in West Islip.

Robert M. Nigro, right, was named administrator of the Nassau County Assigned Counsel Defender Plan. He will oversee more than 260 attorneys who are assigned to represent clients in criminal cases who cannot afford an attorney. The Bayville resident was chief of the civil forfeiture bureau of the Nassau County District Attorney's office.

Meanwhile, Davidoff Malito & Hutcher in Garden City announced four appointments. Jeffrey K. Levin was named partner and lives in Rockland County. He previously worked at Bryan Cave in Manhattan. Previously in his own practice, Malcolm S. Taub was named partner and lives in Manhattan. North Hills resident Robert J. Lewis has been named associate and held a similar position at Malcolm S. Taub in Manhattan. John Loyal has joined the firm as an associate after recently graduating New York Law School in Manhattan. He lives in Valley Stream.
