A new Residence Inn by Marriot will open for business Saturday in Central Islip.

The 125-suite hotel, which is franchisee-owned and managed by Livingston, N.J.-based The Briad Group, is located adjacent to the federal and state courthouses at 7 Court House Dr. The lodging hopes to attract corporate and social travelers as well as those on business at the courthouses, said Kerrianne Zeiner, the director of sales at the Central Islip Residence Inn.

The hotel staff will commemorate the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday at noon. Guests have already booked rooms at the hotel and will also be arriving and checking in that day, Zeiner said.

Construction for the Residence Inn took roughly a year, it is the third hotel to open on Long Island this year. The other Residence Inns on Long Island are located in Plainview, Hauppauge and Holtsville.
