New roles on nonprofit boards

James A. Johnston, left, has joined the board of directors at the Family Service League in Huntington. He is director of real estate for King Kullen Grocery Co. in Bethpage and lives in Long Island City.
Denise Pearsall, center, has been named president of the board of The Framingham Foundation, a Riverhead-based private family foundation established in 2001 that donates funds to Eastern Long Island nonprofit organizations involved in the needs of children and families. The Manorville resident is also a partner with her husband in South Shore Remodeling in Manorville.
Alexander G. Bateman Jr., right, was elected to the board of directors at United Way of Long Island. The Bayport resident is a partner at the Uniondale law firm Ruskin Moscou Faltischek.
