The broadcast graphics technology company Chyron, of Melville, has a new worldwide sales leader.

Kathy Power, a former sales executive with Avid Technology, has been appointed to the new role of senior vice president of worldwide sales. She will lead Chyron’s global sales effort "with responsibility for all aspects of revenue generation," the company said.

Michael Wellesley-Wesley, president and chief executive of Chyron, said, "Her unique leadership skills and extensive background in international sales, service, and business operations make her ideally suited to drive our worldwide sales initiatives.”

Power has more than 25 years experience in information technology sales, and most recently was executive director for More Than Wheels, a Massachusetts not-for-profit.

Her earlier jobs included sales executive roles at Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, and she is a founding member of the Council for Women of Boston College.
