Newsday career fair set for Wednesday

Newsday's Career Fair, set to take place Wednesday at the Melville Marriott Long Island, will have a range of opportunities for jobseekers to speak with dozens of potential employers.
The free career fair also features a panel on networking, presented by Newsday's "Help Wanted" columnist Carrie Mason-Draffen, and a seminar on interviewing, with Scott Passeser, host of the News 12 Long Island Jobline.
In a Newsday supplement about the event, Passeser lists several tips for those attending the fair. Here are a few:

-- Talk about accomplishments, not duties
-- Have a positive attitude
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Doors close at 3:30 p.m. Exhibitors are to include: Access Staffing, ADD/ADHD Housing Group, AHRC Nassau, Allstate Insurance, Atlantic Industrial Technologies, Cablevision, Castella Imports, the Developmental Disabilities Institute, EDP Dental Plan, Federated Payments, First Empire Securities, Forest Hills Financial Group, Geico, Global Equipment Co., ITT Exelis, New York Life Insurance Co., Newsday, North Shore - LIJ Health System, Northwestern Mutual, the NYPD, PJP Health Agency, Powerhouse Paving and Drainage, Quad State Solar, St. Joseph's College, Valley National Bank, Xerox and YAI Network.
