Newsday publisher, development exec join LIA
Gordon McLeod, who became Newsday publisher in late March, will serve on the 65-member LIA board, succeeding Fred Groser, who retired as the newspaper's publisher.
The Long Island Association announced Tuesday that the Newsday publisher and a development company executive have joined its board of directors.
Gordon McLeod, who became Newsday publisher in late March, will serve on the 65-member LIA board, succeeding Fred Groser, who retired as the newspaper's publisher.
Also named to the board is James Lester, senior vice president of commercial and residential development at Forest City Ratner Cos., which was tapped last year by Nassau County to lead the redevelopment of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Forest City built the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
LIA board chairman Kirk Kordeleski, chief executive of Bethpage Federal Credit Union, said, "We are proud to have an independent board of directors that represents the leading businesses and institutions on Long Island."
The LIA is the region's largest business group.
